Incandio Religious Studies
210 units across the six religions of Pearson Edexcel International GCSE Religious Studies, completely free. Every unit opens with the belief explained in plain language — what it claims, why believers hold it, where it comes from and the decision it changes — and then gives the notes a Grade 9 answer is built from: the terminology the mark schemes credit, the graded claims, the sources of authority, the arguments both ways, the secular view where the paper examines it, and the sentence a Level 4 answer contains that a Level 3 answer does not.
Every lesson here ends the same way: learn it, teach it to an AI pupil who asks the awkward question, then defend it against the thinker with the strongest claim on it — free · no account needed.
Also known as Edexcel IGCSE Religious Studies — Pearson’s own name for the qualification is the International GCSE, and that is the name every Incandio page uses.
You sit Paper 1 (beliefs and values, in the religion you study) and Paper 2 (the religion itself). Choose your religion:
- Buddhism — 35 units · Paper 2 is 4RS1/2A, “Paper 2A: Buddhism”
- Christianity — 35 units · Paper 2 is 4RS1/2B, “Paper 2B: Christianity”
- Hinduism — 35 units · Paper 2 is 4RS1/2C, “Paper 2C: Hinduism”
- Islam — 35 units · Paper 2 is 4RS1/2D, “Paper 2D: Islam”
- Judaism — 35 units · Paper 2 is 4RS1/2E, “Paper 2E: Judaism”
- Sikhism — 35 units · Paper 2 is 4RS1/2F, “Paper 2F: Sikhism”
Then the part a revision guide cannot do: you teach the reasoning back to Ember, an AI pupil who asks the awkward question, and defend a judgement in a structured debate marked against published descriptors.
One question, six religions
Where a comparison is genuinely meaningful, the six answers side by side — each with the variation inside the tradition, the source it rests on and what the comparison flattens — and the full unit for the religion you sit:
- Death and life after death — What happens after death?
- Sanctity of life, abortion and euthanasia — Is human life sacred, and may it ever be deliberately ended?
- Relationships between rich and poor — What do believers owe the poor?
- The principal text and its authority — What is the principal text, and what authority does it carry?
- The place of worship — What is the place of worship called, and what are its key features?
- The major festivals — Which major festival does the specification name, and what does it commemorate?
- Pilgrimage — Is pilgrimage required, and where do believers go?
- Equal rights and equal opportunities — What roles may women hold in the religious community?
- Conflict and war — May a believer fight?
- Leaders and leadership — Who has authority, and where does it come from?
The specification, and exam practice
- The 4RS1 specification — papers, assessment objectives and question shapes.
- The five command words and what each is worth — Identify, Outline, Explain and Discuss, with the single tariff each one always carries on this qualification, and the misreading that costs the marks.
- Exam Ready — Identify, Outline, Explain and Evaluate practice on every unit, marked on Incandio.
- Incandio — learn every idea, teach it, then defend it.
Incandio is aligned to this specification. It is not published by, endorsed by or affiliated with Pearson, and it reproduces none of Pearson's indicative content — the point numbers are given so you can check every unit against your own copy.
